After buying some new Godspeed You! Black Emperor I came across a like-minded blog called The Lefort Report focussed on quality US singer songwriter work with some wonderful links.

Inspired to dredge the vault and listen to some classics, I'm immersed in Those Bastard Souls Debt and Departure, Superchunk's No Pocky for Kitty, and Bob Mould's first two solo discs Black Sheets of Rain and Workbook.

With a broken leg keeping the kids housebound, a travelling wife, and heat outside to boil eggs, it's a calming way to pass the afternoon, reeling in the years one note at a time.
